Dedication to Community

In 2003, Sareini began his involvement with the Dearborn Youth Football Association (DYFA). Sareini spent 3 years working as Assistant Head Coach to the 8- and 9-year-old athletes. In 2006, Sareini was elected to the Board of Directors, and was appointed by the Board as its Treasurer and Vice President. Sareini’s belief in youth athletics dates back to his childhood, when he played for the Dearborn Mustangs. This fueled his desire to help the DYFA attain long-term viability. Sareini implemented major structural and organizational changes to the DYFA, and was the Chairman and architect of the organization’s first financial Budget Committee. The Budget Committee undertook a long-term cost analysis of equipment depreciation and replacement costs, as well as food service and merchandise sales.

Sareini has also led his fellow salesman at Jorgensen Ford in Detroit, Michigan, and was appointed as the sole representative from the state of Michigan to a 13 member national Ford Sales Advisory Panel. Sareini’s work and suggestions resulted in the panel’s sole and direct policy change to Ford Credit, Ford Motor Company’s vehicle financing wing.

In 2009, Sareini was the chair of the Finance Committee for Friends of Suzanne Sareini, and worked to re-elect his mother to her current position as President Pro-Tem of the Dearborn City Council.

In 2011, Sareini was asked to be a guest speaker for the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association at the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Fairlane Conference Center. Sareini spoke about the practicality of hybrid vehicles and alternative fuel sources, and engaged in a question and answer session with students from around the metro Detroit area.
