Dearborn City Hall Artspace Project

Looking to use the power of the arts to improve East Dearborn’s economic base, the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority (EDDDA) invited Artspace into the community. Of the 20 potential sites Artspace considered, the most promising proved to be Dearborn City Hall, a two-building campus that occupies an entire block and is available because the City is moving its government offices to a more central location.

dbhall_intIn partnership with EDDDA and the City of Dearborn, Artspace is now in the planning stages of a mixed-use arts campus that will build upon Dearborn’s heritage as a world center of innovation by creating a new anchor institution for the region’s creative economy. City Hall Artspace Lofts will combine 46 units of affordable live/work space for artist families with a cutting edge creative incubator blending studios, shared working space and galleries.
